Body Composition Analysis at Lilivy Aesthetics & Wellness
Your weight tells only part of the story. Two people can weigh the same and have very different proportions of body fat, skeletal muscle, and body water. When your goal is to improve health, preserve muscle, understand change over time, or make a more informed nutrition decision, the number on the scale is rarely enough on its own.
At Lilivy Aesthetics & Wellness in Fort Wayne, SECA Body Composition Analysis provides a noninvasive, data-informed look at the composition of your body. The assessment is designed to give you a clear baseline, make progress easier to understand, and support a more thoughtful conversation about nutrition, activity, weight management, and long-term health.
This service is available to new and established patients. You do not need to enroll in The Lilivy Collective to reserve an assessment.

SECA Body Composition Analysis uses bioelectrical impedance analysis, often called BIA, to estimate the composition of your body beyond body weight and body mass index. The assessment is quick and noninvasive. It uses a very low electrical current to evaluate how your body conducts that signal, then generates measurements that can help distinguish between fat mass, fat-free mass, skeletal muscle mass, and body water.
Depending on the specific seca medical Body Composition Analyzer used for your assessment, your report may also include additional body-composition or fluid-distribution measurements. Your LILIVY Practitioner will explain the measures included in your individual report and what they may mean in the context of your goals.
A body composition assessment is not a diagnosis and it is not meant to replace a complete medical evaluation. It is a more useful starting point than weight alone when you want to see the direction of change, understand whether you are preserving lean tissue, or bring objective data into a broader wellness plan.
A scale can tell you whether your total body weight has changed. It cannot tell you how that change is distributed. Body composition data can help reveal whether a change may be related to fat mass, lean tissue, muscle mass, body water, or a combination of those factors.
That context is especially valuable when you are working toward weight management, beginning a new nutrition or fitness routine, using medical weight-management therapies, rebuilding strength, or navigating body-composition changes in midlife. seca specifically positions body-composition monitoring as a way to establish a baseline, observe trends, and distinguish fat loss from muscle loss over time.
At Lilivy, the goal is not to chase a single number. The goal is to give you clearer information so your next step is based on more than an estimate.

What Can a SECA Assessment Help You Understand?
A first assessment creates a personal baseline. It gives you a documented place to begin before you make major changes to nutrition, activity, weight-management treatment, or strength training.
If your weight changes, body composition data can help put that change in context. This can be especially useful when the goal is to reduce fat mass while protecting muscle, or when the scale is not reflecting the progress you are working toward.
Skeletal muscle matters in weight management, healthy aging, strength, and daily function. A scan can support more informed conversations about maintaining or building muscle as your body changes.
Repeat assessments create an opportunity to compare trends under similar conditions. The information can help you decide whether your current approach is working, whether a plan needs adjustment, or whether it is time to add more structured support.
What Should I Expect During a SECA Body Composition Assessment?
Your in-person assessment is completed at Lilivy by a trained team member. The scan itself is brief and noninvasive. The exact measurement process follows the seca medical Body Composition Analyzer used at Lilivy and may involve standing on the analyzer and holding designated electrodes.
Before your appointment, our team will give you straightforward preparation instructions. Hydration, recent exercise, meals, stimulants, and other factors can affect bioimpedance measurements, so consistent preparation matters most when you plan to compare one assessment with another.
After the scan, you will receive a clear overview of the results available through your assessment. Your LILIVY Practitioner can help you understand what is most relevant to your goals and discuss whether repeat assessment, nutrition support, a PNOĒ metabolic assessment, The Lilivy Collective, or another Lilivy service may be appropriate.

Add a PNOĒ Resting Metabolic Assessment
Body composition tells us about the composition of your body. A PNOĒ resting metabolic assessment adds a different layer of information by measuring your resting metabolic rate, or RMR, through breath analysis.
Your RMR is the energy your body uses while you are awake, relaxed, and at rest. PNOĒ measures oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production during a resting breath test rather than relying on a standard online calculation.
For patients who choose this assessment, the PNOĒ testing is completed in person at Lilivy. A separate 40-minute virtual consultation with a PNOĒ metabolic expert is typically scheduled one to two weeks after testing. This gives you a dedicated time to review the findings and discuss how the data may inform nutrition, recovery, activity, and next steps.
The PNOĒ assessment is not a diagnosis and does not replace medical evaluation. It is a data point that can make nutrition and wellness conversations more specific.
Why Choose Lilivy for Body Composition and Metabolic Assessment?
At Lilivy, data is never the whole story. Dr. Stephanie Sublett is a board-certified OB/GYN, Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, and Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Lilivy Aesthetics & Wellness. Her approach to women’s health considers the larger picture, including body composition, hormonal health, lifestyle, skin quality, aging, and each patient’s individual goals.
That means your results are not treated as a grade or a sales pitch. They are used to make a more informed conversation possible. You may decide that a stand-alone assessment is all you need. You may choose nutrition support, medical weight management, The Lilivy Collective, or another service over time. The choice is yours, and no enrollment is required to begin with data.
No. SECA Body Composition Analysis is available as a stand-alone service for new and established Lilivy patients. Enrollment in The Lilivy Collective is not required.
No. A regular scale shows body weight. SECA Body Composition Analysis uses bioelectrical impedance analysis to estimate components of body composition, which may include fat mass, fat-free mass, skeletal muscle mass, and body water depending on the analyzer and report used for your assessment.
No. The assessment is noninvasive and uses a very low electrical current as part of bioelectrical impedance analysis. It is brief, private, and completed in person at Lilivy.
The Lilivy team will provide preparation instructions before your visit. Preparation may include guidance around meals, exercise, hydration, stimulants, and timing. Following the same guidance before repeat assessments helps make the comparison more useful.
No. A body composition assessment is not diagnostic and does not replace medical evaluation. It provides objective information that can be interpreted alongside your health history, goals, and clinical assessment.
SECA Body Composition Analysis looks at the estimated composition of your body, including measures such as fat mass, muscle mass, and body water where available. A PNOĒ resting metabolic assessment measures your resting metabolic rate through breath analysis. Some patients choose one assessment, while others choose a combined baseline for a more complete picture.
Yes. Repeat assessments can be a useful way to monitor trends when enough time has passed for the results to inform a meaningful next decision. Your LILIVY Practitioner can recommend whether and when reassessment makes sense for your goals.
